Ramona American Jiu-Jitsu is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to keep quality training accessible in our town. We combine wrestling and jiu-jitsu with real-world self-defense so students build confidence, discipline, and practical skills.
Our coaching model is trauma-informed and community-centered, with programs designed for youth, adults, women, veterans, first responders, and families across San Diego County.
We keep the focus on strong instruction, a welcoming team environment, and affordable access. This is jiu-jitsu for the people.

Co-Founder and Coach
Jason is a Marine Corps combat veteran and black belt instructor with deep experience in martial arts, leadership, and community mentorship.
We currently support approximately 150 to 200 active participants annually through trauma-informed youth development, veteran reintegration, and public safety-aligned programming across San Diego County.
Our model is built to strengthen discipline, confidence, emotional regulation, and long-term community connection for youth, veterans, first responders, law enforcement personnel, and families who need consistent support.
We are growing our partnership with Ramona Unified School District to support students who benefit from structured, high-accountability environments outside the classroom.
This work helps position RAJJ as a prevention and intervention resource that reinforces school engagement, leadership development, and positive identity for local youth.
Our partnership with the San Diego Sheriff's Office reflects our role as a community-based outlet for youth support, mentorship, and diversion-focused programming.
That collaboration aligns our training environment with broader public safety goals by creating consistent pathways into discipline, resilience, and constructive peer connection.
Additional collaboration includes veteran-focused nonprofit partners such as WeDefy, helping expand access and referral pathways for adaptive training and reintegration support.
